Step by step
- 1Use certified seed at 50 kg per acre for terraced fields.
- 2Level the plot so water spreads evenly across the terrace.
- 3Weed by hand 25–30 days after sowing before the first urea dose.
- 4Stop irrigation 10–12 days before harvest to avoid lodging.

- Irrigate before 9 am or after 5 pm to lose less water to sun and wind.
- Rotate potato with wheat or peas to break the blight cycle.
- Keep 2–3 beehives near orchards for better apricot and apple fruit set.
- Test seed germination in a wet cloth before sowing a whole field.
- Add wood ash to compost for potassium, but never fresh manure to seed beds.
- Record every input cost per terrace — it shows which crop truly pays.
